Yung Citizen. Charlotte, NC Music Photography

I recently had the opportunity to work Chris, aka Yung Citizen, on his video shoot. I was asked to help with second angles and creating different shots. I was also able to bring along my gear to shoot some photos on downtime between shots for parts of the video. It was chilly day, but the light was fantastic and the locations that we shot at were great. It was fun experience and I had a blast hanging out all day.

Lindsay + Andy. Charlotte, NC Wedding Photography

I met Lindsay and Andy through some good mutual friends here in Charlotte. We knew immediately that we wanted to work together for their wedding day, and I’m so glad we did. They are such a sweet couple of people that are more than genuine. They had a simple, but gorgeous morning wedding in the late fall at the Vanlandingham Estate in Plaza Midwood. I’ve wanted to shoot there since we moved into the area and I’m so glad it was with Lindsay and Andy. It was a stress free day filled with a lot of good vibes and happy people.

The Olson Family. Charlotte, NC Family Photography

I got an email from Laura saying she had heard about me from a friend and was really wanting to do some fun portraits for her daughter and their growing family in their new city. They had just moved from Seattle to Charlotte for her husbands job and wanted something to remember the beginning of their new adventure on the East Coast. So, we headed to Romare Bearden Park in Uptown to play for a while and explore the new park. They are such fantastic people and their daughter Paige was such a fun kid to hang out with while we shot. I’m really excited because we’ve already made plans to introduce the new baby to the camera in a few months.

Megan + Neal. Charlotte, NC Wedding Photography

Welcome to “Weekend At Buddy’s”, as so this wedding was dubbed. It’ll make more sense late, I promise. Neal and Megan’s wedding was such a fantastic day fall day on Lake Norman just north of Charlotte. The weather was perfect, the smell of BBQ filled the air, Neal’s dad was demonstrating his sweet moped skills. Really, not much was different from most days at the Mim’s household. Except that we were all there to celebrate the marriage of two beautiful people.  This was the most DIY wedding I think I’ve been a part of in a very long time. Neal and his brother screen-printed all the programs that were drawn by Jenn Small, the cakes and cake toppers were made by family members, Neal’s dad married Neal and Megan, another family made the moonshine take home gifts, and the bride and groom put in time making/painting all the signs. I mean, it was seriously DIY to the max. I loved it. Seeing people come together in the name of love to make an already awesome day that much better is just great. Everything about the day was so much fun, and you know it ended with people stripping down to their skivvies to jump in the lake. I can’t really think of a better way to cap off the day. Now, go enjoy the photos!

Derek + Lauren. Charlotte, NC Engagement Photography

It’s late, I just finished editing a wedding, and I really wanted to make a post. I wasn’t ready to post the wedding so I figured I’d get Derek and Lauren’s awesome Fall engagement session up. I had such a blast hanging out with these two. We’d been planning this day for quite a while messaging each other back and forth about ideas that we had. One of my favorite things about the entire session is Lauren’s dress. A vintage dress that was passed down to her. It’s so cool and looks so good. Oh yeah, I can’t forget that we all jumped on the trampoline together at the end of the day, too. Who doesn’t love that? It was an awesome overcast day in Plaza Midwood and we just took our time walking around the neighborhood shooting wherever we wanted ending back at their house to hang in the backyard. I can’t wait for their wedding next year, it’s going to be so much fun!
