Where I’ll be this year

Hey folks! So the calendar for 2012 is filling up quite nicely! I’m super excited for all the couples I’m going to get to work with, and I hope to meet a few more before the end. We’ve a long way to for the year….and a whole mess of fun to have while we’re at it! February 10th (the first wedding of the year) is right around the corner, and I am getting pumped! If you’re one of the couples I’m lucky enough to work with this year, I can’t wait to see you! There’s still tons of time and days to fill up for all kinds of photos. If you’re interested let’s set something up!

2011 was awesome!

Thank you 2011 for being so awesome. I got to do so much, and meet so many awesome people that I would have never had the chance to, if not for this “job” that I have now. I’m so pumped that this is what I get to do for a living…it’s crazy because most of the time it doesn’t seem real. 2011 was a big year for me. I moved to a new state and now reside in Charlotte, NC…even though I still manage to be in Atlanta almost every other weekend it seems. I got to go to Bamboozle with some good friends, I shot a lot of crazy fun weddings celebrating the marriages of some absolutely incredible couples. I even got a chance to go out to Tulsa, OK and visit my sister and her family and watch my brother-in-law graduate from the Tulsa Police Academy. I’m looking forward to what 2012 brings and can’t wait to put rubber to the road and travel even more this year. If I’m lucky enough to be a part of your wedding day, an hour session in your life, or we just get to hang out and have fun this year….take this as an advanced Thank You!

Mallory Orr - Wonderful shots Alex! I love yearly recap posts!

O’Brother’s Garden Window Is Alive

Last weekend O’Brother had their record release show. It was one of heck of a night, and I was so pumped I was able to make it to support some very amazing people that have created a record that will stand the test of time. Having known these guys for the better part of 10 years, I know how hard they’ve worked to accomplish Garden Window. Seeing the whole record played live just made the whole night that much better…not sure how many times “Cleanse Me” is going to be played live. It was awesome! Let’s not forget the other bands that played in support of O’Brother that night as well. Manray, Big Jesus, and Nigredo all killed it and made for a very stacked line up. If you haven’t already heard these bands…just go one and make your ears happy. Now, on to the photos.

slogsdon - So glad someone took photos! Amazing concert and killer photos.

A Christmas evening with my best friends!

Every year my best friend and his wife throw a great Christmas party that has become something I look forward to going to every year. This year, we stepped it up a notch. We had the photobooth going, another great friend brewed some Apple Cider for the drinkers (literally everyone but me….More Coca-Cola for this guy!) and there was tons of great food and treats. It was a great time and I’m so glad we go to go.

Sleep Dance and Amulet in Athens, GA

A while ago, I feel so lame posting this so late, we happened to be in town (well, in Georgia) for the weekend and our friends in Sleep Dance and Amulet had a show in Athens. There was no way I was gonna miss out on seeing some of my good friends (some of whom I hadn’t seen in years) play some sweet tunes! My favorite comment from friends I hadn’t seen in a bit was, “What are you doing here?”  It was pretty rad. haha. If you haven’t heard of or checked out either band, do yourself a favor and give them a listen. Just click on their names and it’ll take you straight to their bandcamp sites for your listening pleasure. SLEEP DANCE // AMULET

Now onto the photos, first up Sleep Dance and then Amulet. Have fun and if you live in Atlanta go check these bands out. Sleep Dance is playing at Kavarna (in Decatur) this saturday. Click here for more info.
